In most homes, lighting accounts for 10-15% of the electricity bill. Replacing old and inefficient light bulbs will reduce the cost of lighting your home significantly.  It is possible to save up to 9GBP per year, per bulb, by replacing your incandescent bulbs with energy efficient versions means that your investment will be paid off within a year for the majority of our energy efficient light bulbs. 

Energy saving light bulbs have a number of advantages over traditional light bulbs:

AlternEnergy can also provide low Energy lighting with a wide range of LED lights.  LED lighting is the fastest developing low energy lighting option available today, as the bulbs have up to a 5 year life span and can achieve a much greater lighting effect than the standard low energy lighting bulbs you normally see.

AlternEnergy can upgrade all the lights in a building to low energy LED lighting, which will save power and we can also make the LED light bulbs compatible with an automation system; which will turn the lights on and off automatically.

In an office, a standard fluorescent bulb consumes about 58w, whereas the new LED bulbs consume around 20W. Therefore over the course of a year.

We would anticipate the energy savings to be as follows:

The saving is about £10 per year per bulb.

The bulbs will last for about 50,000 hours, of constant usage, which should mean they would last about 20 years, at the rate of usage we have forecasted. Prices range between £25 and £60 per bulb.  Installation costs will need to be added onto the product cost as LED lighting & is slightly more difficult to initially install, but they last 10 times as long and therefore need less labour to replace.
As standard bulbs last about 5,000 hours (2 years) and cost around £2 each, the LED energy saving bulbs would pay for themselves after 3 - 5 years, and return a yield of around 20% thereafter.
